JET Lekhapal forgery.

BHOPAL : Arguing on the bail application of Prateek Bharadwaj, who was picked up by the Crime Branch of the city on April 5 on the charge of running a fake website and inviting applications for appointment as accountants, his counsel told a court on Tuesday that no one had, so far, come out with any complaint against his client. Bharadwaj is on judicial remand in connection with JET online examination forgery case.

Counsel for defence EA Qureshi said, “Prateek’s company is genuine and his work is genuine. CAs who had taken the contract for the selection of account officers had sub-let the job to Prateek’s company “Leaderspro Learning Private Limited” and that was why he was handling the job of receiving applications forms, processing them and short-listing the candidates.

“If”, the counsel argued, “Prateek Bharadwaj had committed a forgery; there should have been a complainant against him. But not a single complainant has come forward so far”.

Nearly 1,535 vacancies were advertisement, which were to be filled up through ‘Joint Employment Test 2016. Applications were invited online. Demand drafts of Rs 400 to Rs 600 were demanded for various posts.
