BHOPAL : Investors setting up industries in the state would no longer be required to get agricultural land diverted. The state government took this decision in view of the problems being faced by investors in getting diversion of agriculture land done. So far, it was mandatory for the investors to get land purchased from farmers diverted for industrial use. The investors had to do approach government officials right from the SDM to the Patwari for land diversion. The state government was also getting complaints about bribes being sought for expediting the process. This was inconveniencing the investors wanting to set up industries in the state. The Revenue Department has ordered that giving information to SDM for setting up industry on the land not included in the Master Plan would, henceforth, be sufficient. There would no need for any permission to set up industry. On getting the information, the SDM would levy premium on the land and after changing land use, would collect it from the investor.
The state government’s decision will be big relief for the investors who have purchased agricultural land to set up industrial plants.
