BHOPAL : Burglars struck at the locked house of a contractor located at Vishnava Apartments under Bagsewaniya police station in broad daylight and escaped with booty worth Rs 60,000 on Tuesday morning.

The incident came to light when the house owner returned to his house in the afternoon to take lunch and spotted the house burgled, subsequent to which he approached Bagsewaniya police and lodged a complaint of burglary.

Police said that victim namely Vivek Sharma, 42, son of Harinarayan Sharma, a resident of F-241 in Surendra Palace at Viashnava Apartment works as a contractor.

Police further said, in his complaint Vivek told the police on Tuesday morning at around 10 am he went to a construction site located at Bharat Nagar while his wife Neetu Sharma, who is a professor, went to her college.

Meanwhile, in the afternoon at around  2pm, Vivek returned to take lunch and spotted that the lock of door was broken and thieves had taken away gold jewellery and Nikon Camera worth Rs 60,000 from the house.
