BHOPAL : A dispute erupted over formation of new PCC headed by its president Arun Yadav reached party vice president Rahul Gandhi on Monday.
Leader of opposition Satyadev Katare had a brief discussion with Gandhi in Delhi and informed him about the resentment among senior leaders over the formation and neglecting. He said senior MLAs Arif Aqueel and former MP Sajjan Verma were not included in the new list.
Katare reached Delhi to participate in CLPs’ meetings and had interaction with Gandhi in a closed door meeting. He later, met political secretary to Sonia Gandhi, Ahmad Patel and treasurer Motilal Vora.
Sources said senior leaders raised surprise over exclusion of MLAs and prominent leaders of State Congress. They said, AICC general secretary Mohan Prakash was asked to include all but why they were excluded, would be taken into account.
Congress MLA Dr Govind Singh, who was appointed vice president in the new body, is not happy with it and has announced to give resignation. Party vice presidents Manak Agrawal and Laxman Singh have too not been included in the new body.
The party sources said PCC president Yadav is likely to be asked to give explanation on the issue.
Meanwhile, party spokesman KK Mishra told media persons that the party would give respectable job to those leaders who were not included in the list. “No leaders have openly spoken in the media over the formation. Despite that, the party has taken into consideration media reports,” he said.
He said 82 leaders of general category, 16 of Scheduled caste, 10 of scheduled tribe, 52 of OBC, 31 of minority community had been given place in the body.
