NGT expands ambit of its illegal mining order

BHOPAL: The National Green Tribunal, on Monday, asked the state government to follow its order dated September 21 regarding illegal mining in all districts of the state.

The counsel for the state government told the NGT that its order regarding illegal mining was being implemented in Barwani, Khargone, Dhar, Alirajpur, Sehore, Harda, Hoshangabad and Narsinghpur districts. The NGT directed that the same order be implemented in the other districts of Narmada basin including Jabalpur and Dewas.

The NGT has instructed to file the report on the steps taken for prevention of illegal mining in accordance with its order of September 21.

The next hearing of the case is scheduled for November 9.
