BHOPAL : Congress MLA Govind Singh, during the Question Hour in the House on Thursday, raised the issue of Nagar Panchayats of Bhind district constructing roads on private land. Minister of State for UAD Lal Singh Arya announced that the allegation, pertaining to three Nagar Panchyats, would be probed within a month.
Through another question, MLA Ajay Singh raised the issue of use of funds of urban bodies of Guna district in Panchayats. Singh claimed that developmental works were underway in Shahpur, Madhopur and Haripur Panchayats of Guna district, using funds of Guna Municipality. The funds of urban bodies were also being used for works on private land. Singh alleged that money for construction work was withdrawn twice. He alleged that Municipality President Rajendra Saluja, when he was an MLA, was in a controversy in a case of fake caste certificate. Arya assured that the matter would be probed by an officer from Bhopal.
Gujarat owes Rs 5600 crore to state
Minister Lal Singh Arya, replying to a question of MLA Mukesh Nayak, said Gujarat has to pay Rs 5600 crore to the state as its share in the cost of construction of dams on Narmada Rover.
Nayak said Gujarat’s Irrigation Minister had told the Gujarat legislature that they had to realise Rs 3500 crore from Madhya Pradesh. Arya said Madhya Pradesh has to give only Rs 700 crore to Gujarat. Arya said still Gujarat owes Rs 4300 crore to the state.
No irregularity in appointment of WRD CE
The issue of Water Resources Department, Chief Engineer, MG Chaubey getting contractual appointment consecutively was also raised in the House.
MLA Pradeep Agarwal said his contractual appointment was blocking promotion of other officers.
Agarwal claimed that there are several cases against Chaubey. Water Resources Minister Jayant Mallaiya said Chaubey was given contractual appointment as per rules.
