BHOPAL : Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan performed Bhumipujan for construction of multi-level parking at TT Nagar and MP Nagar here on Thursday.
Speaking after the ceremony at TT Nagar, he said that Bhopal would be made one of the best cities of the country. He said Bhopal would be given the shape of Smart and Global City. Chauhan announced that multi-level parking in TT Nagar would be named after martyr Tantya Tope while the parking at MP Nagar would be named after Maharana Pratap.
Chief Minister said the Central government has included Bhopal in the list of Smart Cities and the state government would extend every possible help in this matter. He said a plan to given new shape to New Market area of the city would be made. He urged the business community at New Market to write Tantya Tope Nagar and not TT Nagar on the signboards of their respective firms so that future generations would remember the great warrior.
The multi-level parking at MP Nagar will cost around Rs 45 crore. Speaking at the MP Nagar function he said Bhopal besides being made Smart City, would be made Heritage City, Green City, Clean City, Global City and Digital City.
Higher Education Minister Umashankar Gupta said state government is a pro-active government which is continuously working to solve the problems of common man. He said the work in second phase at New Market would be done under re-densification scheme.
Mayor Alok Sharma said multi-level parking would solve a big problem of the area. He said the shopkeepers at New Market should get ownership rights of their shops.
