BHOPAL : ‘Home Stay’ scheme has been implemented in Madhya Pradesh to make available lodging facility at economical rates to domestic and foreign tourists. Its main objective is to apprise tourists of Indian culture, traditions, lifestyle and architecture along with providing delicious food. The scheme, aiming at promoting spirit of Indian traditions ‘Athiti Devo Bhavah’ and ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam’ has been launched by Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation. It offers an opportunity to landlords of residential buildings to earn money through tourism and hospitality business.
‘Home Stay’ scheme is for the owners of apartments/bungalows/cottages who may provide facility of lodging, food etc. to domestic and foreign tourists. Under the scheme focusing on Indian culture’s basic spirit ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam’, the landlords will host tourists and apprise them of state’s cultures, lifestyle and food habits.
Tourism Development Corporation will hold special workshops to impart necessary training to residential landlords evincing interest in ‘Home Stay’ scheme. Workshop at Indore will be held on November 22, Jabalpur November 29, Maheshwar December 6 and Bhopal December 1, 2015.
