MP has immense growth potential: Shivraj Singh Chauhan

BHOPAL :  Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has said that ancient and great country India is transforming rapidly. Economic growth rate is increasing and policy paralysis has ended. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has implemented novel programmes like Make in India, Skill India, Digital India, Clean India and Start-up India. Now, India is marching ahead with renewed enthusiasm and vigour. Chauhan was addressing a business seminar in Singapore on Thursday.

The CM said that Madhya Pradesh is a pioneer state in the country in development. State’s growth rate has been in double digits for last 7 years consecutively.

The state’s agriculture growth rate has been over 20 percent, which is the highest in the world. Central government is conferring Krishi Karman Award to the state for 4 consecutive years.

The Chief Minister said that now attention is being paid to industrialisation in the state. Priority is being attached to food processing for value addition and creating of new job opportunities.

Madhya Pradesh has deposits of many minerals. Plants can be established in the state to process them. MP is taking rapid strides in renewable and IT sectors. The state has also immense possibilities in tourism sectors. Asia’s largest manmade water structure Indira Sagar is situated in MP. The state has emerged as a textile hub rapidly. Urban planning sector is also witnessing rapid growth. The state has investment-friendly atmosphere. Land, 24X7 quality power and water is available for industries. MP has adopted single-table concept instead of single-door system. He invited investors to Global Investors Summit to be held at Indore from October 19 to 21, 2016.

On the third day of his Singapore visit on Thursday, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan attended a business seminar in which four MoUs were signed for mutual collaboration in four different sectors including urban planning, skill development, clean energy and food processing. An MoU was signed between Madhya Pradesh Directorate of Town and Country Planning and Singapore Corporation Enterprises. Madhya Pradesh’s Technical Education and Skill Development Department singed an MoU with Singapore’s ITE Education Services. The State Renewal Energy Department signed an MoU with Singapore’s Sembcorp Green Infrastructure Limited for establishment of 1000 MW wind energy plant in western part of Madhya Pradesh. Besides, an MoU was signed between LT Foods India Limited and DSM Nutrition Products, Singapore. Under this MoU, works pertaining to urban planning, capacity building, skill development and food processing will be undertaken.
