Move bit by bit towards your goal: DGP tells students

BHOPAL : The DGP Surendra Sinh has said that by meeting small targets every day, one can achieve the goal of one’s life.

The DGP was interacting with brilliant students of scheduled castes and scheduled tribes. As many 223 students from all over the state, who had performed well in the class ten exams and were on a tour of the state, had called on the DGP on Wednesday. The tour was arranged by the Tribal Welfare Department.

During the interaction, one of the students from Gwalior Sonal Verma asked the DGP that why the police only take action against the poor, sparing the rich and the influential.

The DGP told her that in the eyes of the law every citizen was equal. Kalpana Ahirwar asked how one can serve society by joining the police force. The DGP told her that the very purpose of the police was to serve society.

A student of Rajgarh, Soni Goyal wanted to know how to become an IPS officer. The DGP informed him that any graduate can appear in the UPSC Civil Services Exam, through which IPS officers are selected. But he added that to clear the exam, one has to study hard and also for joining the IPS, certain health-height specifications have to be met.

When the DGP asked the students as to how many of them wanted to join police force, many girls raised their hands. Others wanted to become doctors and engineer. And only one student wanted to become a lawyer.

The DGP asked them to participate in sports and also to study hard. He motivated them to come forward and accept the challenges of the changing society. Talking with the media persons later, the DGP stressed on the question raised by one of the student about the image of police being built by the films. The DGP said that though the films are produced for earning money but they can also sent out messages to society.
