Mortal remains of Paur consigned to flames

Dewas : People had been thronging Dewas to pay last respects to the departed soul since yesterday. General public was allowed to pay homage to their popular leader, former minister and Senior MLA of BJP till 8am in the morning and thousands of them could be seen outside the Rajwada.

People kept paying their homage to Puar till 11.30am, after which Yuwraj Vikram Singh Puar began with the last right rituals including the Tilak vidhi, which was rightfully administered by Bhagwati Prasad.

The dead body was brought in a Palki, which was decorated with flowers, and then was placed on a chariot which went through areas such as Bada Bazar, Bhalini Road, Subhash Chowk, Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Alankar Market, Peetha Road, Kavi Kalidas Marg, Jawahar Chowk, Tukoganj road, Nayapura and then through Nahar Darwaza and reached Chhatribagh at 3.45pm

Heavy crowd on the way

The roads through which the Tukoji Rao’s body was taken were heavily crowded as people thronged there to pay their last respects to the popular leader. Flowers rained from the rooftops while Puar’s body was being taken for cremation.

Vikramjeet Puar, was seen with folded hands and appreciated people’s concern for his departed father. Many other closed ones and relatives were on the chariot along with the body of Puar.

Accident averted

People more than the capacity were present at the Alankar Market, because of which the roof of the gallery began to subside. The crowd was immediately asked of get off from the spot. An accident could have taken place, had timely action not been taken against the crowd.

Guard of honour

Ajit Puar lit the funeral pyre of Tukoji Rao Puar, after all the rituals have been administered. The cremation took place with all the State honours. The police also gave its salutes by lowering its weapons. CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Collector Ashutosh Awasthi also offered flowers on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister Shivraj Singh said that Puar was not only his personal friend, but also a very hardworking politician. He said that Puar’s absence would be felt all throughout.
