Inspired by Zuckerburg, his Root Studio is already making waves
BHOPAL : Inspired by a Hollywood movie ‘Social Networking,’ based on the life of Mark Zuckerburg, the chairman and co-founder of Facebook, 16-year-old Samarth Guru has developed a website Root Studio along with his classmate Kshitij Thatte.
Talking to Free Press, Guru who is grade 11 student in Campion school, says, “Since childhood, I was in love with computers. I used Facebook for the first time when I was in class five.
When I was in class seven, I saw ‘Social Networking’ and then I started working on HTML.”
“My cousin Ayush Tiwari bought me servers and domain for Rs 25,000 and I started creating websites and android apps. I made around 12 websites but none of them could become popular.” said Guru adding that “In class 10, I got the idea of creating a social networking site, but for that I needed a developer. Finally, I got him in one of my classmates Kshitij Thatte, who gave me some more ideas about the website. So we both thought about making a rooting website which is www.roylays.info and after some days it will be www.rootstudio.in. It took us three weeks to develop this site in our summer holidays and it has become a hit. Now we have decided to start a company named after us i.e. SGKT Company Pvt. Ltd. I am the founder and Kshitij is the co-founder of roylays.info”.
On being asked about how he managed all this along with his studies, the commerce student says, “I don’t neglect my studies. After completing my graduation I plan to open an IT company.
My parents and my teachers supported me to the hilt,” says the young computer nerd whose hobbies are cooking and playing indoor and outdoor games. His father Rajesh Guru is a DSP in EOW and mother Jyoti Guru is a house-maker.
