More DMU trains likely between Ratlam-Indore soon

Ratlam : Meeting of the Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee of Ratlam Rail Division was held today at the DRM office that was presided over by the Divisional Rail Manager Ms Lalita Venkataraman. Members from the various parts of the Ratlam rail division took part in the meeting and submitted their respective proposals for the improvement of the rail facilities and services.

While speaking the President of the DRUCC Ms Lalita Venkataraman highlighted the performance of the division and also the new rail facilities added during the Financial year 2014-15. She said that the earnings have registered 10.95 percent growth on account of passenger and freight. She highlighted the emphasis being given in the division on the Swachha Bharat Abhiyan and said that people’s participation is very important. While participating the district collector Ratlam Dr Sanjay Goyal who is member of the DRUCC said that Ratlam administration is prepared to extend all possible support for the Simhasth preparations. He also gave suggestions for the improvement of the passenger facilities at Ratlam railway station.

Member Pramod Dafria (Indore)   Association of Industries Madhya Pradesh stressed the need of doubling of the track between Ujjain-Indore. He also suggested change of the timings of some of the trains from Indore for the convenience of the business and industry community in particular. Yatri Sangh’s Mahendra Gadia (Ujjain) raised the issues related to the Sinhastha preparations by the railways.

More trains demanded

GM Nominee Dilip Patni (Ratlam) emphasized the need of increasing train services on the Ratlam-Fatehabad-Indore section and said that in summer months the number of passengers will increase substantially as the presently only one DEMU rake is in operation with eight coaches which is not adequate. Ramesh Kasbekar of Indian Oil Corporation gave suggestions for the improvement of the catering services and also demanded south connections from Ratlam. Kantilal Chhajed of Chamber of Commerce Ratlam demanded stoppages of all the trains, which are passing through the Ratlam railway station but did not have stoppage. Members Jagmohan Verma (Indore), Manoj Kiklawala (Dahod), Rajdeep Parwal (Mandsaur) and other members also gave their respective suggestions for the improvement and addition of the passenger services. In the meeting, ADRM Sanjay Agrawal and senior officials of the Ratlam rail division were also present. Divisional Commercial Manager Ajay Thakur conducted the meeting and gave vote of thanks.
