BHOPAL : Union Minister for Foreign Affairs has said no to display of her photographs on billboards publicising World Hindi Convention to be held in the city. The committee members, looking after the branding of the Convention, suggested displaying photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on billboards.
Earlier, it was decided that photographs of Modi, Swaraj and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan would be put up for the Convention, being organised by Union Ministry of External Affairs.
Swaraj intends to please Modi through this Convention. Lalitgate issue has weakened Swaraj’s position at the Centre. Modi had given full support to Swaraj in this issue and she intends to come closer to Modi.
At the venue of the Convention Modi is everywhere. Even decoration has been done keeping Modi in mind. As it would be the maiden visit of Modi to Bhopal after becoming Prime Minister, the state government is trying its best to please him. The hoardings welcoming Modi would be put up on both sides of the roads across the city from State Hanger to Lal Parade Ground.
The achievements of Central government and state government are also being displayed. An exhibition is being organised showcasing development of the state in ten years. The achievements of Central government in past one year have also been displayed.
Modi, after becoming Prime Minister, had come to Indore in Global Investors Summit. He also came to lay the foundation stone of Singaji Power Project in Khandwa. It would be Modi’s first visit to city. To make the visit of Modi a grand success, a meeting of BJP leaders regarding preparations would be held on Saturday.
