Burhanpur : MLA Archana Chitnis inspected the preparations of Agriculture Festival which is going to take place in the district. She also asked officers of 17 departments to take part in the festival and give their support for the benefits of the people.
MLA Chitnis said that district administration should bring all the government run schemes to the ground level through this festival so that an awakening environment can be developed among the people. She also threw light on the success of the Tri-level Agreement of panchyat, farmer and Silk department for the construction of mud house to produce Silk. She also gave idea on how Horticulture department can attract small marginal farmers for integrated farming. She also asked Seed Officer to publicize the various kinds of cotton so that farmers can earn maximum profit from them. She also asked Agriculture Science Center to give informations to farmers about alternative agro cropping and also to give informations about the difference between tuber and tissue in banana. She also instructed officers to promote papaya seed of Barwani during the festival and asked officers to provide various plants of bamboo, khamer, tamarind and others so that farmers can plant these plants on their farm’s boundaries.
MLA Chitnis said that under the Agriculture Festival the cattle breading should also be promoted so that it can act as a parallel economy to the agriculture of the Burhanpur district. She also asked Soil Conservation Department and Fishery Industries Department to combine their plans for the welfare of the farmers.
CEO of District Panchayat Sureshwar Singh, Sub-divisional Officer Kashiram Badole, Agriculture Officer Manohar Devke, Horticulture Officer Ram Naresh Singh, Silk Department’s Officer Soni and other officers of different departments were also present in the meeting.
