BHOPAL : The long-awaited expansion of the council of Ministers may be round the corner. The likely dates are February 20 of 22 – before the commencement of the The concurrence of the PM has been obtained and around 10 MLAs may get ministerial berths.

The wannabe ministers in queue are said to be Archana Chitnis, Rustam Singh, Jaibhan Singh Pavaiya, Yash Pal Sisodiya, Vishwas Sarang, Vikas Pathak. Harsh Singh and Mahendra Hardia. Some more may also get red beacon cars.   Presently the council of ministers is 23-strong, including the Chief Ministers. There is thus the scope Contd. on P6 of inducting 13 more ministers. The issue of ministry expansion is pending for long. Many a party stalwarts including Kailash Joshi and Sunderlal Patwa want their kin to be promoted as cabinet ministers and Kailash Sarang wants his son to be a minister.

The issue was pending for long and was leading to resentment among the aspirants. Sources said that no minister is unlikely to be dropped, though initially there were rumours that some of them may be shown the door.
