Given presentation at cabinet meeting; told to rebut Cong charges
BHOPAL : Like in the case of Vyapam, the ministers will now clarify the government’s stand on the allegations of corruption in the organistion of Simhastha.
Urban administration commissioner Vivek Agarwal gave a presentation in the cabinet meeting on Tuesday and gave details of the expenditure made by the government. The presentation was given to clear the air in wake of allegations of large-scale corruption in Simhastha.
The rates of various things purchased for Simhastha formed part of the presentation. Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan urged his ministers to reply to all allegations levelled by the Congress on Simhastha with full confidence. During the presentation, the ministers raised several questions which were answered by the officers. Congress had levelled allegations of irregularities in toilet construction, purchasing and construction works in Simhastha.
RSS has also sought clarification from the government over allegations of irregularities in Simhastha. Ministers are now going to give clarifications as Chouhan does not want that as in the case of Vyapam, the government should be put in the dock on the Simhastha issue. RSS has clearly said that the talk of irregularities in religious programmes adversely impact the image of the government in the minds of Hindus.
According to minister for public relations, Narottam Mishra a presentation on Simhastha was given before the ministers as they tour various areas across the state and they should be able to apprise people about the reality of Simhastha and also about false allegations of Congress.
