Bhopal: The exercise to get ticket to contest assembly polls has begun with the announcement of poll dates. Not only the MLAs, but ministers too are using all their resources to claim ticket. Wary of anti-incumbency, a number of ministers are shying away from contesting poll from their existing seat.

These ministers are insisting BJP organizational leaders and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to field them from different constituency. There are many ministers who could not muster courage to contest elections from their current constituency. Minister Lal Singh Arya, who represents Gohat seat of Bhind district, is keen on getting ticket from Amla constituency of Betul district. Arya had visited Amla several times, for his being in-charge minister of Betul. Arya does not want to contest elections from Gwalior-Chambal region as the agitation on Atrocity Act in April in Gohad had created an environment against him.

Minister Surendra Patwa too does not want to contest elections from Bhojpur under Raisen district. Patwa wish to contest elections from Manasa constituency of Neemuch district, which is native place of Patwa family. Several followers of Patwa have left him after the death of former Chief Minister Sunderlal Patwa. Surendra Patwa is also facing the heat and thus wants to get ticket from some other constituency. Minister Rampal Singh, who represents Silwani constituency of Raisen district, does not want ticket from Silwani after the incident of suicide of his daughter-in-law.

Rampal is facing resentment of Raghuvanshi community in his area. Rampal wants ticket from Vidisha where he has good network. The condition of Suryaprakash Meena, who represents Shamshabad seat of Vidisha district, is not good. Meena is looking for a safe seat and he is eying on seats from Hoshangabad and Raisen districts. Besides, ministers namely Bhupendra Singh, Maya Singh, Jaibhan Singh Pavaiya, Deepak Joshi and Sharad Jain also want to change their seats. As many as 10 ministers lost elections in the previous assembly polls and that is why ministers want to change their seats as none of them wants to take risk this time.
