BHOPAL : The meteorological department on Sunday issued alert and warning for heavy rains in most parts of north Madhya Pradesh covering districts alongside border of Uttar Pradesh in the next 24 hours.

  There is an upper air cyclone (UAC) which is converting into low pressure area so it will precipitate in form of heavy rains in northern parts of the state.

Meteorological department director Anupam Kashyapi said, “An upper air cyclone has formed in central Uttar Pradesh, which is turning into a low pressure area that will lead to heavy rainfall in north belt of Madhya Pradesh. The heavy rainfall is likely in Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Datia, Panna, Sagar, Damoh, Ashoknagar, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Satna, Rewa and Sidhi. Apart from these districts Sagar, Panna, Damoh, Narsinghpur have been put on high alert.”
