BHOPAL: The minimum temperature dropped drastically on Tuesday after the mercury soared for a couple of days in the state capital. Even the night in Bhopal was much cooler than that of Pachmarhi, known as hill station of the state.
Rewa recorded a minimum temperature of 7 degree Celsius which was the lowest temperature in the state. The sudden drop in temperature has been attributed to disappearance of clouds.
Bhopal recorded night temperature of 10.9°C which was 2°C below normal while Pachmarhi recorded a night temperature of 12.5°C which was 2°C above normal. On Monday, the night temperature in Bhopal was pegged at 14.1°C.
However, the day in the city of lakes remained quite warmer as maximum temperature was recorded at 29.9°C which was 1°C above normal while Pachmarhi recorded a maximum temperature of 26.0°C which also was 1°C above normal. Besides, night temperature also reduced drastically in other divisions like Rewa and Ujjain in addition to Bhopal. It is withdrawal phase of winter but as clouds which were over Madhya Pradesh for the last three to four days but when it disappeared, temperature dropped. As per the meteorological department, temperature reduced because of disappearance of clouds over the state. Weather is dry so it also led to sharp fall in temperature. The condition is likely to prevail for the next couple of days and then temperature is expected to soar.
