BHOPAL : The day temperature continued to plummet while night temperature increased all over the state on Sunday. In some parts of the state, cold wave and ‘cold day’ like condition likely to prevail in next couple of days. Some parts of the state also experienced light showers. Nainghpur recorded 2 cm rainfall while Betul, Lakhnadaun, Seoni, Bichhiya recorded 1cm rain fall respectively.
Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 22.8°C which was 2°C below normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 13.8°C which was 4°C above normal. On Saturday, day temperature was 23.8°C and night temperature was 12.4°C which shows that day temperature reduced by one degree Celsius and night temperature increased by over one degree Celsius.
Jabalpur recorded a maximum temperature of 20.5°C which was 4°C below normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 16.0°C which was 6°C above normal. Indore recorded a maximum temperature of 25.1°C which was 1°C below normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 13.6°C which was 4°C above normal.
Dense fog continued to paralyse normal life in the state and districts like Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Datia, Shivpuri, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Indore, and Bhopal may face dense fog problems. Cold wave like condition prevailed in Datia, Bhind, Morena, Gwalior, and Shivpuri districts. Rain and thundershowers with chance of hailstorms are likely to occur at a few places over Jabalpur, Shahdol, Rewa divisions and Raisen district.
Director Meteorological department Dr Anupam Kashyapi said, “Wind confluence is taking place over central part of the state so moisture feeding continues to occur. Just because of continuous moisture feeding, dense fog like condition prevails. There may be a break in current condition but after January 19, the condition is likely to repeat.”
