Meeting CM, tiger easiest in MP: Shivraj Singh Chouhan

BHOPAL: “Tourism is one of the most fast emerging sectors and to bring in more investment Madhya Pradesh is providing 15-40 per cent grant to investors and to impart training and develop skills, a National level training institute will be set up for the tourism,” said CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan while inaugurating the third MP Travel Mart on Saturday and two new units of Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC), at Madhai and Delawadi.

Adding he said, “You can get two things in Madhya Pradesh very easily. First is CM’s appointment and another is meeting with tiger. We are approaching private investors and buyers to come forward for the development of Madhya Pradesh Tourism. Because they have more creative ideas and the future lies in innovation and creativity”.

With 70 delegates from 25 countries, the travel mart witnessed participation from 175 representatives from India and 80 representatives from different travel and tour operating associations. 39 awards in 22 categories by MP Tourism were also given during the programme.

Surendra Patwa, Minister for Tourism, Government of Madhya Pradesh said, “We have been progressing year by year. Tourism is one of the major industries of the state. This year the budget allotted for the tourism industry is more than Rs 1.50 lakh crore. MP Travel Mart 2016 has participation from 28 countries and will help in generating revenue and promoting tourism industry of the state.”

Hari Ranjan Rao, Secretary Tourism, MPSTDC informed that the MP is extending full support in developing tourism in the industry. “We have recently launched new tourism policies which include the development of around 300 roadside amenities, home stays and water tourism in the state”. Director MPSTDC, Tapan Bhowmick was also present at the programme.
