MBBS students thrown out of colleges want to commit ‘mass suicide’

BHOPAL : Hundreds of MBBS students from all over state, whose admission has been cancelled by Vypam (Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board) on ground of unfair means (UFM) have demanded either immediate justice or permission for “mass-suicide”.They handed over a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan to collector.

The MBBS students demonstrated at Vyapam in protest against cancellation of their admission in various governments medical colleges. Admissions of students of 2008, 2009, 2010 batch have been cancelled.

According to students, middlemen (touts) have become active and they are minting money in the name of getting names of students deleted from STF list. Thus another fraud is being committed in the name of exposure of Vypam fraud.

The students are being picked up by STF in midnight on the basis of call details. They and their parents are being treated like criminal and terrorists. The behaviour of STF personnel was not good and it was not justified to punish them before conviction. Parameters and ground of investigation should be changed.

At present, STF is taking action on the basis of call details and mismatch of roll numbers.

They said that only selection in PMT does not make one a doctor. Students have to study to pass MBBS exams. University conducts annual examinations  and then they have to undergo clinical training as internship before MBBS degree is awarded.

The students who are being treated as accused are in Pre-PG, final year, and some of them are completing internship.
