BHOPAL : The intra-party politics in the state BJP has intensified following the announcement of elections for the post of Mayor in two cities of the state. It is becoming increasingly evident that MP Anup Mishra has been kept out from the team constituted by the party for the Mayoral elections in Morena. According to sources, Ashok Argal, the party’s Mayoral candidate, wanted that Mishra should be not involved in the elections. On the other hand, local MLA Rustam Singh has been included in the team on Argal’s request.
Gwalior-based leaders of the party have been given responsibility of elections in Morena.
Ministers Maya Singh and Lal Singh Arya, along with former MLA Dhyanendra Singh and State Vice President Vedprakash Sharma have been deputed for the Morena elections.
The situation is the same vis-à-vis Ujjain. BJP candidate Meena Jonwall has got the ticket courtesy of Rajya Sabha MP Satyanarayan Jatia. Minister Paras Jain, MP Chintaman Malaviya and MLA Mohan Yadav have not been included in the poll panel.
Indore’s former Mayor Krishna Murari Moghe, Indore Divisional Organisational Secretary Shailendra Barua, State Spokesman Vijendra Singh Sisodia and State Secretary Tapan Bhaumik have been assigned responsibility of the elections. The party is keen to win the polls against the backdrop of the Vyapam scam. Minister Rampal Singh has been deputed for Vidisha Municipality Elections and Gaurishankar Bisen has been given the responsibility of elections in Lanjhi.
