BHOPAL : With the administration having acquired most of the buses used to ferry students to and from schools, uncertainty prevailed till late in the night on Wednesday regarding whether schools in the city would run on Thursday or not. Buses have been acquired for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Sehore district.
Parents may have to drop and pick-up their wards from schools which have not declared a holiday.
In most of the schools, annual examinations are underway. Some have postponed the exams. Text messages have been sent to parents regarding the change in examination schedule.
St Joseph’s Convent School (Idgah Hills), Campion School (Bhauri), All Saints’ School, Holy Family School and Balbhawan schools have postponed exams and declared a holiday on Thursday. Schools which will run as per the scheduled include DPS, IPS, Billabong, Carmel Convent, Jawaharlal School (BHEL), Campion (Arera Colony).
SAHODAYA President PS Kalra said, “IPS will remain open. Though buses have been acquired for PM visit but we will manage it”
School buses Owners Association’s President Nasim Parvez said, “Our Billabong School will run as per schedule. Despite the acquisition of buses, classes will be held.
MP Board Private Schools Association president Ajit Singh said, “We do not have any idea as to how many schools have changed their schedule due to acquisition of buses for the PM visit.”
