Nagda : The so-called ‘hard decision’ of the central government about the hike in rail fares has created uproar among various political and social leaders along with the general masses. Some of the reactions of people are as follows:

“The Modi government came into power with the promise for reducing inflation, but now it has given a big jolt to common people by favouring inflation. With the 14.2% increase in rail fares and 6.5 % increase in freight services, the inflation will get a big boost. Hence, it clearly shows the difference between the words and actions of BJP. After the increase in the freight rates, certainly the prices of various things, including foodstuff will definitely rise, therefore we condemn this decision and demand that, this increase must be withdrawn.

Dilip Singh Gurjar Formr MLA

“This is breach of trust with the public; who is already under stress due to the rising inflation. Especially, increasing the fares, just before the union railway budget, is clear cheating. Before the parliamentary polls, Narendra Modi used to make fun of former PM Manmohan Singh for not controlling the inflation. While, after winning the elections, PM Modi began to talk about the need of taking hard decisions”.

Thakur Bhairusingh Chauhan, National Vice-president and state incharge of Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha.          \

“The hike in rail fares before the rail-budget is against constitution. The UPA government had not increased rail fares for the last 10 years. What was the compulsion, that this government hiked the fares within a month and without the approval of parliament? It will increase inflation and thereby increase the troubles of common people. It should be rolled back”.

Manoj Rathi, Patron- Kirana Vyapari Sangh, Nagda

“We have voted Modi government with the hopes and trust that, even if it will not be able to reduce the inflation, but it will now stop it. If this govt. is saying that, this increase was decided by the Congress government, then what is the significance of forming your government with so much hype, if you can not revert their decision? BJP govt. should not make such excuses”.
