BHOPAL : Union Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi has given in-principle consent to the proposal for opening of 11,000 aanganwadi centres in Madhya Pradesh.
State’s Women and Child Development Minister Maya Singh has urged Maneka Gandhi to implement Indira Maternity Cooperation Scheme in all 51 districts of Madhya Pradesh.
Maya Singh met Maneka Gandhi in New Delhi on Thursday and congratulated her on assuming the charge of Women and Child Development Department. Maya Singh urged her to sanction state’s pending proposal to open 11, 121 additional aanganwadi centres in Madhya Pradesh. Gandhi gave in-principle consent to the proposal. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had written a letter in this regard to UPA government.
Maya Singh urged Maneka Gandhi to implement Indira Maternity Cooperation Scheme in all 51 districts of Madhya Pradesh. She informed that at present the scheme is being implemented in 2 districts of the state including Sagar and Chhindwara. She said that this schemes needs to be implemented in entire state for eradicating malnutrition. Consenting to her appeal, Maneka Gandhi assured to take an early decision.
