BETUL : A retired employee of health department was duped of Rs 90 thousand by a thug who claimed him to be officer of Reserve Bank and State Bank.
According to information, one Ramprasad Soni, who had retired three years ago from health department, received a call on his mobile phone from a person who said, your ATM card has become old and a new one has to be issued. The caller then asked for the 16 numbered code of the card. A gullible Ramprasad gave the details of his ATM card to the caller.
Later Ramprasad told about the phone call to his sons Pankaj and Anurag. They sensed that their father had been duped and immediately went to ATM booth to check the account.
They were shocked to see that Rs 90 thousand have been withdrawn from the account. The duo straightaway went to the Bhainsdehi branch of State Bank of India and informed about the incident. Ramprasad has made a complaint to the Jhallar police station. According to TI Nepal Singh, police is investigating into the case.
