BHOPAL : The Koh-e-Fiza police, on Thursday registered a case of abetment to suicide against the husband of a 40-year-old woman who committed suicide by jumping into the Upper Lake on July 27. However the arrest of accused husband could not be made till the filing of report. The Koh-e-Fiza police said that victim Mahima Khatri (40), resided at Reliable Colony in Idgah Hills. She married Kailash Khatri and had two children. During further investigation of police, it came to light that Kailash was heavily addicted to liquor and was mentally harassing Mahima for past several months due to which her mental condition was not well.
In a fit of rage, Mahima left her home on July 26 and committed suicide by jumping into the Upper Lake. The parents of the deceased woman also levelled charges against Kailash of mentally torturing their daughter. Based on the complaints of parents of the deceased woman and circumstantial evidences, police have registered a case under section 306 (abetment to suicide) of IPC against Kailash and started search to nab him.
