BHOPAL : Minister for Finance and Commercial Tax, Jayant Maliaya inaugurated the facility of e-stamp generation by service providers for non-registered documents in the city on Wednesday. The facility would enable service providers to print e-stamps related to such documents, which are not registered. Inspector General, Registration, Deepali Rastogi was present on the occasion.
Maliaya said computerisation has led to unprecedented improvement in the department’s working and revenue collection and the working of commercial tax, excise and registration has become systematic. He said Madhya Pradesh is the first state where there is e-registration and e-stamping. Maliaya suggested bringing old registries under e-registration and starting e-locker facility.
In the e-stamping facility, the government would provide commission at the rate of 1.5 per cent for e-stamp issued by the service provider. A fee of Rs 5 as service fee would be charged from the client for each transaction. To get e-stamp generated, the service provider will have to provide information about person buying the stamp.
The information would be regarding name and address of the client along with purpose of buying stamp. A brief description about the document for which e-stamp is being bought would also be given.
