Madhya Pradesh: Dengue Case Found, Residents In Panic

Harpalpur (Chhatarpur): There was panic among residents of Harpalpur in Chhatarpur after a dengue case came to light recently. A 16-year-old has been suffering from fever for five days.

Her family admitted her to a private hospital in the city, but when her condition did not improve her family took her to Jhansi. After routine checkups, doctors confirmed the girl was suffering from dengue.

The girl had a platelet count of only 50,000 but her condition improved after continuous treatment for two days. After the case came to light, the Municipal Council and the Health Department been criticised.

The Municipal Council did not sprinkle insecticide in drains and in vacant plots, leading to a surge in the mosquito population. Even the medicines for dengue and malaria prevention are being distributed only on paper.
