Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A 22-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were found dead in a well in Partala village under Barela police station in Jabalpur district on Sunday evening, the police said.
Those who died were identified as Nilesh Sahu and Pooja Patel. Nilesh was working as a vegetable vendor and Pooja did household chores.
According to the sources, both of them were in love and wished to marry each other. But their families did not agree as they were of different castes.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Rural) Apurva Killedar said that Pooja left her home without informing her family members on November 3. The family members had lodged a missing complaint on the same night. At the same time there was not any missing complaint reported of Nilesh, he added.
The bodies have been sent to the medical college for the post mortem. A probe is underway to find out the reason behind the incident. Action would be taken according to the evidence that came in fore after PM reports, he added.
