  • Udaipratap, Bhagirath get ticket; three MLAs in list
  • The list includes five women.
  • No kin of BJP leaders obliged.

BHOPAL: The BJP, on Thursday, announced its candidates for 24 of the 29 Lok Sabha constituencies in the State, denying tickets to four sitting MPs, rewarding defectors Bhagirath Prasad and Rao Uaday Pratap Singh and fielding three MLAs Jaibhan Singh Pabaiya, Manohar Untwal and Chandrabhan Singh.

A Rajya Sabha member Phaggan Singh Kulaste and Anoop Mishra, who had lost in the last Vidhan Sabha polls have also been nominated. The list includes five women. No kin of BJP leaders has been obliged.

No decision has been taken regarding Bhopal, Mandsaur, Balaghat, Khajuraho and Sagar seats. The candidates on these seats would be decided by BJP national president Rajnath Singh, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and state president Narendra Singh Tomar.

The list of candidates was announced by the BJP national general secretary Anatha Kumar at a press conference in New Delhi after the meeting the Central Election Committee of Bharatiya Janata Party . The sitting MPs who have been denied ticket include Shivraj Lodhi ( Damoh), Ashok Argal ( Bhind) Govind Mishra ( Sidhi) and Makhan Singh Solanki ( Khargone)
