Madhya Pradesh Assembly Polls 2018: High polling percentage makes leaders confuse

BHOPAL: The leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress, after the conclusion of polling on Wednesday, have begun to make claims about the victory. Though, the BJP leaders seem to be more excited as the polling percentage touched 75 per cent in the state. 1 BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya has claimed that there was a wave in the state due to public welfare oriented works of PM Narendra Modi and CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan that is why people vote in large numbers.

Vijayvargiya said the BJP would surely form the government. State Congress in-charge Deepak Babaria said the Congress would form the government in MP. Babaria did not made any claim about the seats. He alleged that the BJP misused power in the elections. Congress leaders have termed high voting percentage as symbol of anti-incumbency factor. On the other hand, the BJP leaders maintain that it is the history of MP that whenever there was high voting percentage, it had gone in favour of the BJP. In 2013 Assembly polls the voting percentage was around 72 per cent.

It had benefitted the BJP. The high voting percentage has made the BJP leaders assured of coming to power. Congress leaders are also taking feedback from assembly seats, where the party is said to be strong. The BJP and the Congress leaders are citing various reasons for forming the government. Political analysts maintain that the percentage of voting shows that there contest between the Congress and the BJP was not a close one, as has been claimed earlier.
