Betul (Madhya Pradesh): Two men and a 10-year-old girl were killed, while another minor was injured, when the motorcycle they were travelling on rammed a stationary truck in Betul district, police said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Betul-Multai Road, about 25 km from the district headquarters, around 9 pm on Tuesday, when heavy rains lashed the area, said Ratnakar Hingve, in-charge of Saikheda police station.
Two minor girls and the men, aged 38 and 20 years, were travelling from Multai on their two-wheeler after attending a birthday party, when they rammed a stationary truck near Sasundara Checkpost barrier, the official said.
While three persons were killed on the spot, a six-year-old girl was injured and is undergoing treatment at a hospital, he said.
Heavy rainfall was reported in the area at the time of the accident, and the person riding the motorcycle could not spot the stationary truck ahead, the official said, adding that a case has been registered in this regard.
