Madhya Pradesh: 11 employees suspended for gambling

Taking note, the GMC administration has suspended all the 11 employees.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): As many as 11 employees of Gwalior Municipal Corporation (GMC) including drivers have been arrested on charges of betting, gambling in Jamuna Bag nursery in Gwalior on Sunday. All have been released on bail.

Taking note, the GMC administration has suspended all the 11 employees.

Acting on a tip off, police team swung into action and raided the room, which was inside nursery and rounded up 11 civic body staff who were gambling. A sum of Rs 14,000 has been seized. GMC employees could not manage to flee when police raided the room.

Padav police station SHO Vivek Ashthana said, “ There is a room in Jamuna Bag nursery. Gwalior Municipal Corporation staff were gambling in room. Police team on getting confirmed information raided and arrested them with cash and cards.” GMC commissioner Kishore Kanyal told Free Press that all the 11 municipal employees have been suspended with immediate effect. “When I was told about the incident, I ordered their suspension. It is very unfortunate,” he added.
