BHOPAL: The district administration, under its ongoing anti-encroachment drive, brought down an illegal Madarsa in JP Nagar under Gautam Nagar police station on Wednesday. It was a hall with tin-sheet roof and was also used to offer namaz. It was owned by Jamila Bi. Heavy police force was deployed to tackle the likely protest while dismantling the structure. The drive was carried out under the supervision of senior officers. Initially, there was tension when the officials reached the place with police force to dismantle the construction. The local people protested as they used to offer Namaz at the place. CSP Navratan Singh said, “Jamila Bi had provided the hall to offer Namaz. It was built without permission. Though Muslims used to offer Namaz there but the construction was illegal. Everything went off peacefully.”
