BHOPAL : A 25-year-old youth who had gone to attend nature’s call on Monday morning besides the railway tracks near Narayan Nagar died after the splinters erupting from a 5 kg LPG cylinder that blasted near him caused him severe head injury. The owner of the cylinder, who resided in a shanty near the spot, had thrown the cylinder there after it was leaking and caught fire not realising that the youth was present there.
Acting swiftly on the information, police personnel reached the incident spot and after making preliminary investigation later registered a case. The body of the deceased was sent for the post-mortem.
TI, Bag Sewania police station, Lalit Dangur said that the deceased has been identified as Rajesh Mawase, 25, resident of Ishwar Nagar slum area, who was a labourer.
The incident occurred at around 7.45am when Mawase went to attend the nature’s call near railway tracks behind Narayan Nagar. In the meantime, Bhupendra Ahirwar who resided in the same locality threw a 5Kg cooking gas cylinder in a pit near him following gas leakage from it due to fear of any untoward incident.
Unfortunately, the deceased, who was unaware of the fact, was severely injured after the cylinder exploded like a bomb and its splinters hit his head. When his kin reached the spot for attending nature’s call they spotted him lying in a pool of blood.
Subsequently, police registered a case under sections 304-A and 285 of the IPC against the accused cylinder owner Ahirwar and took him into police custody.
