The outcome will be known in a few hours from now. All preparations for counting of votes have been made. Polling in the state for 230 assembly seats was held on November 28. With exit polls predicting a close contest between the BJP and the Congress, heart beat and adrenaline flow of leaders in both the camps have gone up.
Nath, who took over the reins of Congress as state president in May, has been round-theclock for the party’s win. Besides Chouhan and Nath, Congress election campaign committee president, Jyotiraditya Scindia too addressed meetings across the state. The voting per cent in assembly polls this time clocked at 74.85% with 3.78 crore as first-time voters. Two crore men and 1.78 crore women exercised their right to vote. The offices of Congress and BJP have been decorated with zeal. Congress leaders seem to be more excited about the outcome than the BJP leaders.
