BHOPAL: “If people are angry with the PM’s decision of demonetising Rs 500 and 1000 currency notes, they will not re-elect him in 2019,”, said Bollywood actor Anupam Kher while addressing a press conference here on Monday.

He said the people should wait for some more time before analysing the impact of PM’s decision. He added that demonetisation is aimed at combating corruption and black money and those opposing it have not done anything for the nation.

He also alleged that the CM of Delhi came to power by opposing corruption but he does nothing except finding faults with others.

He thanked the chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for organising the Lokmanthan programme and stressed that such programmes should continue.

He claimed that, “At least for the next five years I am not going to join politics or the BJP”. He said that the title of his upcoming novel is ‘North and accidental activists’.

Earlier, addressing the concluding function of Lokmanthan, he said that youth are very aware and they have no fear of speaking the truth

He alleged that some people are opposing nationalistic statements. They say don’t each us nationalism it is there in our blood. He stated that over the past two-and-a-half years some people raised the issues of intolerance and patriotism and he countered them. He also stated that “Some people were keeping us in slumber but after many years we have been awakened”.

“I am an expatriate in my own country, I have been expelled from Kashmir and as a Kashmir pundit, I never uttered any anti-national statement against our country”, he said.

Lobsang Sangay, the Tibetan prime minister-in-exile stated that four challenges confront the world: violence, disparity between the rich and the poor, environmental degradation and religious intolerance.

Chandra Prakash Dwivedi compared Kautilya and Gandhi who were insulted and later they created history. “One should not have fear of getting insulted. Insult gives one to power to change history”.

One the occasion state culture minister Surendra Patwa, general secretary of Lokmanthan programme J Nandkumar and PS Manoj Shrivastava were also present.
