Jhirniya : Panic gripped Maanikera village on Thursday when two villagers sustained injuries after being attacked by a leopard. The injured people were rushed to the primary health center and are currently undergoing treatment. Later, one of them was shifted to the district hospital for further treatment. As per the received information, injured Singa Barela (65) and Kasturi Mangilal (50) were sleeping outside their house when suddenly a wild animal attacked them around 5.30 am. They started screaming for help and the animal ran towards the fields. Villagers gathered at the spot and started searching for it but in vain. Villagers suspected that leopard did the attack however; range officer Sharmila Jhirve denied it saying that nothing is clear yet and they are probing the matter. She informed that the village is under alert and villagers are advised to sleep inside the house at night.

Earlier, the trio was booked in RTO recruitment scam and then they were produced in the court on Thursday.”
