BHOPAL: Leader of opposition in state Assembly, Satyadev Katare, died at Hiranandani Hospital, Mumbai on Thursday after a prolonged illness. He was 61.
Katare’s body will be brought to Gwalior in an air-ambulance from Mumbai on Friday at 1pm. His last rites will be performed at his native village Manepura in Ater of Bhind district on October 22.
Katare was minister during the governments of Motilal Vora and Digvijay Singh. Katare had gone to New York for his treatment but that did not bring any significant change in his condition.
Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, expressing his grief on the demise of Katare, termed him as a leader who put principles first in politics.
