BHOPAL: A joint team of Bhopal Municipal Corporation and Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board on Friday, inspected various hospitals, nursing homes at Kolar Road and Kotra area to check the facilities for disposal of bio- medical waste, solid waste management and sewage.

The team found Manoria Heart Hospital, Suyash Hospital and Sharda Hospital releasing untreated sewage directly into the Nullahs for which they were slammed monetary penalty. A fine of Rs 12,000 was charged from the erring hospitals. Directions to install sewage treatment plant were given.

The team was led by health officer, SP Shrivastava while its members were Dr Taslim Sufi, Dr Harish Vankhede and Asif Nazir.
