BHOPAL : Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has directed the officials, while reviewing the status of excessive rainfall that took place in the state in past two days, to keep disaster management teams ready in all districts. The teams should remain alert and take instant action on getting information. To deal with any emergency, helicopter of Army should be kept ready in Bhopal.
Revenue Minister Rampal Singh, Chief Secretary Antony De Sa and Director General of Police Surendra Sinh were present in the meeting.
Chauhan said people should be taken to safe places in the event of rise in water level in rivers and Nullahs in all districts. Constant monitoring of the situation should be done and daily review must be done. He directed that in case of floods, relief must be provided instantly.
Chauhan directed to restore power supply in Ujjain, which has been disrupted due to excessive rains. People can inform about problems due to excessive rains on phone number 0755-2441419 to state-level Flood Control Room. He said helicopters of state government should also be kept ready.
It was informed in the meeting that 700 people have been shifted to relief camps and assistance was given to 2000 persons. Water level in Kshipra river in Ujjain has risen significantly. A bridge got damaged near Nasirpur in Guna district and alternative arrangements for movement have been made. More than 30 persons were shifted from a place near Indore when the water level in Khan river had risen. People caught in flood were also rescued in Shajapur and Guna districts.
Additional Chief Secretary BP Singh, Principal Secretary Revenue KK Singh , Principal Secretary Public Works Department, Pramod Agarwal and other departmental officials attended the meeting.
