Seeks probe in alleged land scams in Bpl, Indore

BHOPAL: Leader of opposition Satyadev Katare filed two separate complaints with Lokayukta’s special police establishment (SPE), seeking probe and case against chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Jan Abhiyan Parishad vice chairman and Vyapam fraud case accused Dr Ajay Shankar Mehta, Nitin Mahindra, the then revenue minister Kamal Patel and various others for two different land scams of Bhopal and Indore cities.

In the complaint, jointly signed by Katare and PCC chief Arun Yadav, they said, the government decided the 10.28 acre land of Arunachal Ashram Rajput Trust in Indore, in favour of Narendra Gorani, only after a letter from the then leader of opposition in Lok Sabha and BJP veteran LK Advani.

“Gorani who had purchased the land at cheaper rate, got a letter from Advani’s office to resolve the issue of taking land in his possession. CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s office also wrote letter to collector quoting Advani’s letter and as a result, the land was transferred in favour of Gorani despite denial from district collector of Indore,” said Katare in a press conference at PCC.

He said, the land was surplus and was given to the trust with the condition not to sell it. The trust sold 5.56 acres to Gorani. Remaining land was transferred on the name of Kamlendu Singh and further Gorani purchased it.  Katare said, this land was to be used for public purpose by the MP Housing Board. In another complaint, Katare said, Ajay Shankar Mehta, Nitin Mahindra, Dr Savita Mehta, Sarla Mahindra, Vinit Mahindra and others purchased a land in opposition to divisional commissioner’s office in village Pipalner and with their connection in government, they evaded stamp duty.

No action against BJP men’

Talking with media persons, Katare said, the STF had arrested governor Ram Naresh Yadav’s OSD Dhanraj Yadav and Congress leader Sanjeev Saxena in Vyapam fraud cause – both belonging to the Congress party but there was no action against former minister Laxmikant Sharma and his close aide Sudhir Sharma despite FIRs lodged against them.
