BHOPAL : Well-known stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma has said that he would like to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi but not JNUSU chief Kanhaiya Kumar to his talk show. Sharma was talking to media persons at a city hotel here on Thursday.

He said he wants that the nation should know how Modi struggled against all odds to become the Prime Minister of the country. This would inspire the people.

But when asked whether he would like to invite Kanhaiya Kumar, the President of the JNU Students Union too, the comedian-turned actor replied in the negative. “Is desh ke sau karod ki janata mein kis kis ko invite karenge”, he said, adding that “a case against him is sub judice,”

Sharma was here to promote his new comedy ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ along with Sunil Grover.  The show is all set to be telecast from April 23 at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment Television. It is noteworthy here that Sharma hosted television comedy show “Comedy Nights with Kapil” for almost 3 years from June 2013 to January 2016. After opting out of Comedy Nights, he has signed a contract with Sony TV for the new show.

Speaking about the show he said, “It is a clean family show. The sets and costumes would be different from my earlier show but most of the team members would be the same. It would be a serial and not a series of stand-alone episodes. Shah Rukh Khan would inaugurate show in Delhi. We will also focus on the issue on ‘Swachchhta Abhiyan, in the show.” An audition for the show would be held at Jamboori Maidan in the city on March 11.

He also added that Bhopal was a very lovely city. “I loved its clean roads”, he said. He said that the shooting of his next Hindi movie would begin from November.”
