BHOPAL : Joint director general of stamps and registration Indrajeet Kumar Jain, who was arrested in Vyapam recruitment scam from his office on Friday, revealed his link with Nitin Mahindra, terminated principal system analyst of Vyapam. Jain was produced in local court on Saturday from where he was sent on police remand till May 12 for further interrogation in the scam.
As per the information, Jain recommended one candidate Manoj Kaul, already arrested in Vyapam scam in transport constable recruitment test to Mahindra by getting huge amount. The STF so far has not disclosed the money taken for selection.
STF sleuths conducted raid at stamp and duty head office near Raj Bhavan to arrest Jain. Initially, he refused to go with the STF officials quoting his innocence in the case.
“STF officials interrogated him in the office for one and half hour before taking into custody. He was shown evidence received during interrogation with Mahindra and Manoj Kaul. There was huge transaction of money between Jain and Mahindra before the announcement of the recruitment result,” said sources.A senior government official, the accused is high profile catch in MP’s recruitment and admission scam.
Three UP scorers also on PR
Three other accused Mahammed Afroz, Imran Hasan and Muktdeer Ahmad, all scorers arrested from Uttar Pradesh in PMT 2012 recruitment case, were sent on police remand till May 15. Two other accused Satish Chandra Mehta and Sanjay Patel, both scorers in the scam, were sent to jail till May 19.
