Khandwa : Indore Lok Ayukta police caught junior engineer of Power Distribution Company Premlal Gurjar (52) red handed while taking bribe of Rs 3000 on Saturday. He had taken bribe for installing DP for power connection.As per complainant Bhagchand Agrawal, resident of village Pandhana, junior engineer Gurjar had demanded bribe of Rs 3000 from him to install DP for electricity connection. He informed that he has one acre of land near which there is a farm of schedule caste farmer, who has got the DP free as per the scheme of government. If DP would be installed at his farm then it would supply electricity to near by farms as well. He complained that the company didn’t install the DP yet.

In this regards, he went to junior engineer Gurjar who had demanded bribe for it. Thus, before reaching his office, Bhagchand reached the Lok Ayukta police office and lodged complaint against Gurjar.

Lok Ayukta police then laid a trap to nab the accused.

They sent Bhagchand with Rs 3000 to Gurjar and as he accepted the amount, sleuths standing in civil dress caught him red-handed.

A case has been registered under sections 7, 13(1)d, 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act-1988. DSP informed that they have got to know from their sources that junior engineer has more property than his income and they are investigating the matter.
