Jeweller duped of ornaments worth Rs 6L

BHOPAL: A jeweller in the city Lakherapura area was duped of gold ornaments worth around Rs 6 lakh on Wednesday evening by a thug posing as a customer of his shop. The police following the complaint of the jeweller registered a complaint against the unidentified thug and started investigations. TI Kotwali BS Chouhan said the Khalil Ullah, owner of Delhi Jewellers at Lakherapura in his complaint stated that a man posing as the husband of a woman who is the regular customer of the shop called the shop and said that his wife wanted to buy jewellery but she had met with an accident and she is unable to come to his shop. The jeweller on his request sent the jewellery through his servant to Peergate where this man Saleem was standing in front of a shop. He took the rings and jewellery and said that his wife wants to see more options. He accompanied the servant to the shop and returned with some more ornaments. Then the jeweller sent 6 rings and 8 chains with the servant to his place. Saleem told the servant to wait for a while in front of the shop till his wife selects the jewellery and eloped with the jewellery. Later the victim filed a report at the Kotwali police station. The stolen jewellery was said to be worth Rs 6 lakh.
