GWALIOR : A team of Lokayukta Special Police Establishment raided the residence of suspended Janpad Panchayat Chief Executive officer (CEO) Shivkumar Shrivastava on Wednesday morning and discovered that he was the owner of movable and immovable properties worth Rs 3.40 crores. Shrivastava was not present in his residence at the time of the raid.
The Lokayukta team found that the official had Rs 3.22 lakh in cash, gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 1.80 lakh, Rs 26.88 lakh in bank accounts, fixed deposits worth Rs 68 lakh, insurance policies worth Rs 13 lakh and household items worth Rs 4.90 lakh. Documents relating to ownership of plots, flats, duplexes and agriculture land in Gwalior, Bhopal and Bhind. His house was valued at Rs 2.20 crores.
Lokayukta DSP Dharamveer Singh Bhadoria said that they had received complaints that Shrivastava’s properties were grossly disproportionate to his known sources of income. “After obtaining a search warrant from a special court, we raided his residence”, he said. Meanwhile, Shrivastava’s wife Brajesh alleged that divisional commissioner KK Khare had framed her husband in many cases. According to her, Khare suspended her husband when the CEO of Karera Janpad Panchayat in Shivpuri district.
